It has also been appreciated by the Team the amount of people who come to watch and support the lads as it is local boys representing the Town of
Manager Nigel Bateman gave the website his views on the fantastic start our Allied Counties side have made to the season. We remain unbeaten after three tough games in the Allied county Youth Premier division. A very tough start to the season all three away games have been against sides that are being talked about as possible winners of the league. Town have not conceded a goal in any of the games and won two out of the three. This is down to some great defending as a team with very hard working midfielders, we have come into this league and are determined to stay in it, something we have nether been able to do before as a club. Every point is being celebrated as they are having to be hard won .The most pleasing thing about this is, we are not one of the fancied sides in the league but are more than holding our own with playing passing football that has earned the respect of the sides we have played so far.

The U18's picked up their first win of the season in the Allied Counties Premier League last night (17/09), with a fine win away to last season's North division champions, Sun Postal Sports. With Jack Ingrim scoring the only goal of the game midway through the first half. Manager Nigel Bateman said "He would have been happy with a point from this game, so to come away with all three was a real bonus. It's only the third time the lads have played together, and you can see things are improving with each game, although I do feel we need to lift our fitness levels"
We have been drawn at home to AFC Wallingford in the preliminary round of the FA Youth Cup. The date of the tie is to be confirmed, with the venue being Scoures Lane, Tilehurst, Reading. Local rivals Binfield, Reading Town and Henley Town have also got the benefit of home ties against Beaconsfield, Kidlington and Aylesbury respectfully. Should we prove successful against Wallingford, we will travel to Thame Utd in the 1st Qualifying Round.
Manager Nigel Bateman ran the rule over our first training session of the season last night, this was also used as a trial for any newcomers. Nigel, along with assistant manager Roger Herridge and first team boss Wayne Wanklyn were more than impressed with the new trialists, and they are all looking forward to the new challenge of playing in the Allied Counties Premier Division.
